High Cross Open Shoot April 2012

April 2012 and almost 70 intrepid archers braved the first bad weather we've seen at Chedworth in over a year. Amazingly, the majority who'd booked in showed up and almost all completed the course despite the often driving wind and rain.  

Having the excellent and cosy farm shop cafe on site really came into it's own and gave everyone the chance to warm up and dry out a bit; tho' sitting outside in the sun with their homemade ice cream would have been even better...

 

 The High Cross course comprises a variety of terrain, some wooded, some open and the unique quarry ledge shot - described to me by one visiting archer as one of the single best shots in the country

 

I couldn't take a lot of photos owing to the rain, but risked these using my phone (Resulting in my now having a new one!)

 

 

And with everyone being shrouded against the weather, apologies for not adding names to hats and hoods!

Our big thanks to everyone who turned out for the shoot and for the all the kind words. We hope you'll come again - I think we can pretty much guarantee the weather'll be better!
